A new Homeschool/Unschool Group

I have had a hard time finding much activity in the way of groups and such in the Eastern Oklahoma County area. No meetings, field trips, extra-curriculur groups, etc.

I have been a part of Homeschooling in OKC Metro for around 2 years now, and they are a great group, just most of their stuff is in Moore/Norman.

I've been a member of the EOC HS group for a year now, and there has been next to no activity there. They used to be a very active group when I was homeschooled, but that was over 10 years ago.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not talking bad about these groups. I just wanted to have something that is active in this area: Mid/Del, Choctaw, Harrah, Jones, Luther, etc, etc. And any other part of OK Co that feels left out.

So, tonight I just happened to discover that Google has groups! I looked, and didn't find anything for homeschoolers in Oklahoma, and decided I would give it a shot in creating my own! I hope it turns out good. Since it's brand new, there's not really anything on there, but I hope that won't last long at all. If I can get members on there, than hopefully we can get more stuff going!

One thing I wonder, should I post this info to my Yahoo Homeschool groups? Would it be competitive or offensive? Neither one am I looking for. Just trying to provide another option to people in this area who don't have one. Also, is it to soon, seeing as how I don't have anything on it yet? Hopefully tomorrow I will get back on and post some info on things I have to get everyone started.
