I personally love the New Living Translation of the Bible, because of how easy it is to understand, how clear it is, how it's worded in more modern English so us today can read and understand the Bible, which is what God wants for us, to understand and know His Word. He spoke to the men who wrote the books of the Bible in the language that they spoke at that time, which is how they wrote it. He speaks to us today, when He speaks to our hearts, in the language that we speak and understand. He wants us to have a relationship with Him, and to have that relationship, we must understand what He says. And someone like me, and most people I know, don't understand, let alone speak, much Hebrew, Greek, or even Old English. And when God speaks to me, He doesn't speak to me in any of those languages, or any other, for that matter. Now, I'm not prejudice against other versions of the Bible, and I don't care for the hype of only one version being correct, because I believe, among other things, that this is a tactic of the enemy to divide the body of Christ. God wants us to love each other, and for each of the members of the Body to work together, but when they find petty things to fight about, such as which version of the Bible is better, they are not acting in love, and they can not possibly work together. Outsiders see this, and it causes them to want nothing to do with Christ, or Christianity at all. God spoke about these things in different places in the Bible, but I'm not going to get into it all right now.
The main reason why I'm posting this, is because I went to the NLT Facebook page, and found that they are having a giveaway of their Teen Study Bible, which I would love to win for my daughter who is turning 13 next week. All I need to do is share the link to the contest in a few places, and I'm registered to win! So, if anybody else is interested in winning this, here's the link!

I might go in more depth on my thoughts about the Bible version debate on my other blog, which you can find a link to on my "Links" tab above.
