God's smile

Today while I was brushing Trinity's hair so we could run to the store, she said something totally awesome but random. Just out of the blue she said, "I miss God's smile." I was kind of stumped as to what she meant and where that came from, and responded with "huh?" Again she said "I miss God's smile. I really liked his smile! I used to see it when I was a baby." At this point, I remembered how when she was a baby, she would look up towards the ceiling often, sometimes looking over my shoulder at something behind me, and just start smiling and laughing. I never knew exactly what she was looking at, but thought that perhaps it could be something like an angel maybe. Perhaps it was God?

Then, I asked her, "did you used to see His smile when you were a baby?" She said "yes, when I was a baby, in heaven, before I was alive." Wow. I had no idea how to respond to that. I still don't, really! But, I found it quite amazing, and just had to share it. I think at least she has a special memory of God's smile in her mind. I pray that she never forgets it, that she remembers that God is always smiling at her and He loves her.
