Pray
I'm sitting in Burger King having lunch with my girls after Faith had work done at the dentist. A man, probably in his 50's, comes and sits down at a nearby table to eat his lunch. He sits down, sets his tray down, then pauses and bows his head. After a few seconds he proceeds to eat. Not only is the a sight not seen very often anymore, and therefore made me smile, but it also made me think and reflect on my own self. After I brought my food to the table and sat down, I immediately started eatinng. I forgot to pray. Seeing this man do so, while on his lunch break from work (made obvious by the fact that he was wearing his uniform work shirt), made me feel ashamed of my actions. I realized that I have a bad habit that has continued on from my life before becoming a Christ Follower, even though that was 5 1/2 years ago. So I stopped, and apologized to God, and thanked Him for my food. I need to work harder in changing this habit, to never forget to thank Him for every bite of food He gives me, and my children, and in keeping the promise He made to me a few years ago that they would not go hungry, not even a day. I need to instill a good habit in my girls to always remember to pray and thank God, not only for their food, but for every thing He gives us, because He has given us so much.
Thank you God for sending that man to Burger King today to eat his lunch, and remind me to pray.
